JC Academy Pre School and Aftercare strives to provide top quality education and care within a safe, loving, nurturing and enriching environment, where each child’s potential is developed in an holistic manner.

JC Academy Pre School and Aftercare is a place where each child's uniqueness is nurtured in an environment of love, joy and respect. Our children are encouraged to play, enquire, grow and learn.  We wish to instill in our children a respect for self and others, a deep empathy and compassion fostered by a love of Jesus and a natural curiosity and desire to learn.

 

 

SECURITY/GATE ACCESS: 
Parents who want to visit our school, please call us during office hours to make an appointment.

 

Please Note  -  no parent or person coming to drop off or collecting your child will be allowed access unless you, the person dropping/collecting are on our system or prior arrangements have been made with the school. 


We are very strict about this and no exceptions will be made.  Thank you in advance - Management

TRADING HOURS:

We are open during school holidays, but will be closing for December 23rd 2015 to January 5th 2016. Public Holidays and a few days over Easter depends how the holiday falls. Our hours are from 06h30 to 17H30 and we operate as a Full Day Facility that offers Holiday Care (included in our fees).  We are sorry, but we do not offer 3 times a week options.  Please enquire at reception if you need more information or contact us at jcacademy7@gmail.com.

 

 

RULES AND REGULATIONS

CLOTHING

Uniform
Wearing JC Academy Pre School and Aftercare uniform is compulsory except during holidays.  All uniforms, underwear, socks and shoes must be clearly marked with a permanent marker.  We will not be held responsible for any lost, torn or soiled items where we have acted diligently and where the loss, soiling or tearing did not occur as a result of any gross negligence or recklessness on our part or on the part of our staff. Due to the age of the children and the propensity for items to go missing, please take note that toys are not permitted to be brought to school. Parents are implored to check their child`s school bag for toys prior to dropping the child off at school. Whilst the School and its staff members will exercise the necessary diligence and care in dealing with any toys which may be discovered whilst the child is at school, the School and its staff shall not accept liability should the toy become lost or destroyed.

Any lost items recovered by us or our staff members will be kept at reception for a period of 40 days only where after they will be donated to charity. Children must have a change of clothing in their school bags.

Sleeping
For the Half Day (14H00) and Full Day (17H30) children sleeping is compulsory.  Please supply a blanket, and a small pillow (all clearly marked). We do supply a mattress and sheets.  All bedding will be send home every Friday to be washed and have to be returned every Monday.

SCHOOL FEES

Monthly Fees
School fees are calculated over 12 months and payable over 11 months (January to November).  Accounts will be posted on your child`s online profile once a month.  All fees are payable on or before the 1st of each month.  All cash deposits that`s made at a bank, cash deposit fee charges will be billed to your account.  For security and safety reasons we would prefer electronic transfers (EFT).

Overdue Payments 
Fees are payable in advance on or before the 1st of each month.  Fees outstanding after 7 days will be followed up by a "first friendly reminder" letter.  A "second" and "third" letter will be send to follow up should payment still be outstanding.  A "fourth/final" letter is sent out, in which you will be notified that your child/children will not be allowed to return to school until the account has been paid in full.  Should any accounts be handed over for collection, you will be liable for the cost incurred.

JC Academy Pre School and Aftercare shall retain the right to claim interest on all outstanding amounts at the maximum rate permissible in accordance to the maximum rate as per the National Credit Act of South Africa.

Children who attended a school before joining JC Academy Pre School and Aftercare, will be required to supply us with a Fee Clearance Certificate from the previous school.


 

Sickness
JC Academy Pre School and Aftercare reserves the right to decide whether your child may or may not attend for health reasons.  A sick child cannot remain at school according to City Health regulations.  Please do not send your child to school if he/she has a temperature - remember that if you give your child fever medication and send him/her to school, they might not seem to have a temperature because of administering medicine the fever is masked however the symptoms are still present and may be contagious to other children or staff. Also do not send your child when he/she is vomiting, has diarrhea, and has a bad cough or any contagious condition.  If your child has head lice, your child will be sent home immediately (as per City Health Regulations). We will need a clearance certificate from the clinic, however they will still be check by JC Academy Pre School and Aftercare staff, upon returning to school. Despite a clearance certificate, if staff finds any presence of nits or lice, they will be sent home again.

In the event that a parent/guardian disagrees with the School`s determination then the parent/ guardian shall have the child assessed by a medical practitioner and furnish the School with a medical certificate stipulating the medical practitioner’s findings.

Medicine 
We request all parents to hand in any medicine and medical instruction at reception.  Please make sure that clear instructions are given in the homework book and are signed by the parent.  Note that no medicine will be administered unless it is written up in this book.  Clearly mark all medicine and make sure that no medicine is left in your child school bag.  It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to collect the medicine at the end of each day.

 

If your child had contracted any contagious illness and was kept at home, you have to provide the school with a medical certificate when your child returns to school.

 

In the event of an emergency, JC Academy Pre School and Aftercare reserves the right to obtain medical assistance from any doctor available, and the cost involved will be the responsibility of the parent/legal guardian.  In any case of emergency we will first attempt to contact both parents/legal guardian and the nominated family doctor before we proceed with any of these steps mentioned above.

 
Security 
All persons involved in dropping off or picking up children at the school will have to be loaded onto our system.  Please make an appointment at our reception desk or call us on 031-2014498.

 

Lifts
If the parent/legal guardian is not fetching the child, they should advise the school so that arrangements can be made at the gate for easy access and security reasons.  Persons dropping off or fetching children on a regular basis will be requested to be loaded onto our system as well for security reasons.

 

 

Fetching Late Fee
 

Our school hours are strictly from 06H30 to 17H30. If the parent is going to be late, please phone the office, or if you are on the Mornings Only and Half Day you will be charged according to the time you fetches your child per your time slot.  (NOTE: there are limited availability on Mornings Only and Half Day time slots.  If you would like to know more, kindly enquire at Reception as this is done on first come, first serve basis.)

 

 

NOTE
Parents fetching late will be charged a "Late Fetching Fee", should you be fetching your child later than as per your agreement/time slot.
Parents fetching @14h00 will be charged as per our late fetching fee for every 30 minutes or part thereof (these will be children other than the ones participating in Extra Murals).
Parents fetching after 17h30 will be charged as per our late fetching fee.

 

Personal Details
It is the responsibility of the parent/legal guardian to advise the school should there be any change to  their address, contact details or email address.  This is especially important in the case of any emergency.
